Unsurprisingly, I’ve been to lots of gigs in the last few months in Leeds. This is unsuprising because:
A) I like music and gigs very much.
B) Leeds has lots of very good gigs going on in it.
C) I’ve been living within walking distance of music venues, rather than an hour away via a bus that does not go on any later than 11.28.
Ideal circumstances eh? Particularly as the venue I was nearest to (10-15 minutes walk) was the Brudenell Social Club, which is a fantastic venue that puts on huge quantities of great bands. I like it a lot, and I think I might already have been there more times than any other venue…
So I’m going to try and recall and list all the gigs I’ve been to so far in my time at Leeds, for information and interest purposes. I’ll add a little note to each, and maybe some will be written up more properly at some point too. It probably makes sense to spilt this up by months, so the post doesn’t get out of hand. Pretty sure there was only one in September though, so I’ll stick that one in here.
Comanenchi / Divorce at Nation Of Shopkeepers: Two loud bands, one of rough Glaswegian metal, one of shouty-lady-drummer with guitar player noisy punk rock. Good good. Also very important for being the gig where I met my music-loving friends at Leeds (you know who you are), which proved an extremely fortunate move!
